Default Battery Died, now FI light is on?

So heres the deal, I mounted my license plate in a legal spot under the tail and ran lights to it. So as I was working I had my bike on (not running), and of course the battery died on me. So I waited a couple minutes, tried to start it and it didn't start. Repeated that a couple times, and couldn't get it started. So I ended up bump starting it. After I rode down my driveway and back, I was letting it idle to get the battery charged. I noticed it had a little bit of a rough idle, and I noticed the FI light was on. I was thinking, maybe like a car and check engine light the light goes off after a little. So I took her around the block (mind you its dark and gettin down to the 30s tonight so I wasnt out long). But the FI light is still on, no blinking or anything. What could be the problem? Could it be the fact my battery died, or is that a coincidence. I tired searchin but couldn't really find much about it. Thanks in advance.

Not too sure about your problem - if the FI light is related to the dead battery or what.

However, let me offer this advice/opinion seeing as though you were tinkering around with electrical items: Check your fuses. The other day we noticed that my buddy's tail lights and blinkers were out on his ZX10. Andcoincidentally his FI light was also on. We got home and checked the fuse box and it was blown. So I think the FI light also serves to tell you that you have no tail lights - at least that's the case for his Kawi.

Check your fuses and lights.... all I have to offer.

Aside from fuses, I think possibly your battery could still be at a low state and your FI system is recognizing the low voltage as a potential FI system malfunction--hence the FI indicator.

If it were me, I wouldcheckmy voltage onmy battery (if you have a meter--the voltage should range from 13-13.5V unloaded). IfI'm below 13V I'd remove the battery, put it on a trickle charge for a few-retest, reinstalland startup andsee ifmy FI indicator still shows (after a min of idle or so).

Well i borrowed my buddys battery tender, and charged it up. But didn't take long at all, maybe all of 2 minutes on a slow trickle. And the FI light is still on. [:@] Anyone have any other ideas of what it could be? It doesnt blink or anything. Takin it to the local shop around here they said itd probably take them an hour to figure out what code its throwing, and labor is 89 bucks an hour.. soooo i'll leave that to a last resort.. Thanks in advance.

I got those bolts for the license plate, that have little LEDS in them. I tapped them into whatI believe is the old wiring harness for the license plate lights. They were brown and green, and close to the battery. Yeah, maybe its the end of the batteries life, I'll try to swing by pep boys see if they can test the battery for me. I hope its not a coincidence, and there really is somethin wrong .
