I'm kind of a newbie, haven't ridin up I 70 yet, but plan to this year. There is a group of riders @ http://www.cosportbikeclub.org/that meet up every Saturday and Sunday to ride, you should check it out, maybe we can get together sometime this year and make that run to steamboat

Was in CO till about 6 months ago. Loved making the run to the top of lookout mountain over golden. I miss it already. There are a bunch of CO guys on here, but most people don't really look in this section.

Ahhh... well they should start! haha. Yea I only had a 200cc before this bike so riding in the mountains now should be awesome. I am excited to go anywhere with it.

Thanks for that link mccannf, I had found that and one more group (i have the link at home), also the only track I found is down by the springs I will post that link later as well.

Hopefully I will be up and running after this weekend. Air filter is coming in on Friday and should get new tires on Saturday. where are you getting your tires, I found a place in Denver affordablemotorcycletires.com they have low prices and $20 off bike install and balance, I still want to make sure I am getting the best deal. After this I am ready to go riding, my favorite is road is from Boulder to Estes thru the canyon :D

Your talking about the place off of 40th and Colorado right? That is the same place I'm getting my pilots, killer price! 108 front and 130 rear, 20 bucks mounted and balanced, best I've found so far.

mccannf, that's the place. I ended up calling the guy up on Wednesday and they did not have any front tires in stock [:@] now I will have to wait another week :(

Triax, I will say pull up Google map, find the shortest way to the mountains and then look for the twistyest road going up and down. I also saw some tested paths on the site mccannf posted above

Haha I bet. Are you doing all the work yourself?

mccannf3

Yes, I can spent more money on better parts than throwing away money on labor, and that **** is really expensive! Tires just arrived, wheels should be back from powder coating by the end of the week, brakes should get ordered before the end of the week, i still need the brake side clip on ( i have a sticky throttle) and then reassemble everything, hopefully I can be riding by early April[sm=boohoo.gif]It sucks missing all these great days, but I know there will be more :D

I got my wheels back the other day and all I have to say is DAMNNNNNNNNNNN! they look freakin sweet! My new clip-ons are scheduled to be delivered Friday, still waiting on putting the funds together to order the brakes. I miss quoted them on my last post it is going to be more like $600 shipped. Thats for all new rotors (EBC pro-lite contours anyone using them?) and new pads. After i get those installed I can finally have my Piolot Powers mounted and balanced, install my RK quick accel chain and sprocket kit, and then I can finally take her out for spin [sm=icon_rock.gif]

Well you are making progress and with this weather you are not missing much. The freaking bastards poured a ton of sand on my street… so pissed [:@]. Post pics when you have the wheels on.
