so i'm buying a bike...

This guy has a 01 Honda CBR600 F4i with 30,000 miles. He says it runs great. (I know he's trying to sell it so you know... Anyone would say that i guess.) He has it listed for $4100 I could probably getting it down to $3500... maybe less...

Cosmeticaly its in great shape (he says). And im heading to see it tomorrow.

thanks,
Robert.

If its nice and runs good when ya take a peek at it, id say go for it but try for the 3500 or less price range.

You should ask if he's done valve adjustments etc. Just for reference, look up the service manual on stephygee.com to see when the various service jobs need to be done. Otherwise, honda engines run for real long.
Also, being capable as it is, the f4i might get pushed hard by the riders once in a while... look for signs.

too many miles for the price mang....regardless of condition.

he has a valve check coming up in 2K...if you don't do it yourself, it will cost you a few bills.

If the maint. has been done on time and chain, tire, sprokets are ok...I would say go for it for 3500 or less. My riding buddy has 85k on his 01 F4i....it still runs like as if it were new.

Same here, I'm going on 81k on mine and it still runs like the day it was new, and never a problem. Gotta love Hondas! :D F4i's are tough bikes though... they'll run damn near forever, only needing a few CCT's along the way

So yea, if it's in good shape and the maintence has been done, go for it! Like Tahoe said though it's got a valve adjustment in 2k miles if it hasn't been done yet, so you might want to use that to haggle the price down a bit

Not worried about the mileage it's the price that sucks. Even if it was maintained. I wouldn't pay more than $1,5k-$2K. There are bikes that you get for $3,5K that don't have half of those miles.
