I have a 2000 F4. It has a K&N air filter, and I am planning on upgrading my exhaust to a Yoshimura RS-3 setup. I have heard that when you have aftermarket exhaust and a K&N filter, that you should also geta jet kit.

I have three questions:
Do I really need a jet kit with new exhaust and air filter?
How hard are the kits to install? (I have a good background from working on cars, but not much bike experience.)
What is a good brand name jet kit to get, and how much will it cost?

1. put your pipe on and see is the best way if anything it will just lag
2. fairly hard if you have never worked on a carb
3. dynojet, about $120

How willI know if it is lagging? Will the bike just not have its full hp potential, or will I notice something?

you will be able to tell, if you jsut put a slip-on on i should be fine
