I want to swap the tail section of my 06 f4i for one from an 01-03. I have found plenty of aftermarket tails on e-bayand they are quite a bit cheaper than a Honda original ,but I'm worried about quality and fit. If anyone has experience or opinions on this please let me know.

I tried some sides for my 600RR and, well, I still have OEM on there. The bolt slots didnt match up very well, and some wherent even close. But it beinga tail section, you dont have many slots (atleast mine doesnt) But you may have a few more since it is a little longer and fuller. You will also have to be concerned with they way the seat will fit on there also. That may be alittle ify..... but its up to you. I dont know on how much the price difference is but I would go ahead an spend the extra few and get the OEM. If you do that you wont have to worry about fitment, durablity etc. As from the experience I had, I would just do OEM, but its comepletely up to you, but I have seen some sites that guarentee fitment or your money back, and if thats the case, aftermarket is atleast worth a try IMO, good luck

Thanks for the info, I'll definitely get OEM. It will just remove any question of possible problems. I was at the Toronto Motorcycle Show today and met a guy who deals in used OEM only 30 min away. So between him and E-bay I'll find what I need. I also bought the 01-03 under tail from Moto Tech so I'm committing to the project as money permits.
