Trust me i just got mine back from being stolen i know how you feel. It was gone for 2months and i only had it for 2 months. But if you had some kind of theft stuff like lojack you will get it back pretty quickly. I didnt have anything. I have some friends in the San Antonio area that ride pretty hard so lll ask them to keep a look out for you. Did you do anything to the bike that would make it stand out from another one other than the exhaust.

no offence but if you park your bike in an apartment and not inside it you are going to get it stolen, it's a fact.

Terribly sorry to hear that man!
I'm in Austin too. Always paranoid about my baby.
I cruise craigslist a lot these days cause I have free time at work and couple of my buddies are looking for bikes.
I'll definitely keep an eye out for ya man...Hate to hear that.
Good luck and I hope it's found quick.

HAHAHAH **** THOSE GUYS!!! UPDATE************ the morons were loading it into a new truck in the parking lot of a wendys, when the clerk called the cops, they show up and the guy had switched the plate that i had on it with a plate from a yammie. sharp eyed cop saw it was a honda, ran the vin and long story short they are in jail now! and i have a FULL security system on the bike now. if you so much as look at it wrong it goes off. i never thought i would see the bike again, let alone see it so quickly!!! watch your bike if your ride in or around austin as these guys are good, they had a new key made for the bike as my exact ignition code. apparently the bike was headed for laredo (IE> mexico). thanks y'all!

That is so awesome! I think we are all so happy to hear the good news. It is one of those things that really troubles us all when we hear about a theft (it could easily be us next), but we can celebrate when a bike is recovered (gives everyone hope)! I hope those guys piss somebody off and get the $hit beat out of them.

Wow, glad to hear a good ending! I just talked to my neighbor downstairs and asked him where his '88-89' (not sure which years honda had the 1000 version) black and red 'cane was cause I hadn't seen it parked out front for awhile and he said it was stolen a couple weeks ago. We're right behind a police station! I park mine in the front in a parking space. Better believe i'm putting a heavy duty wheel lock on it now. In winter I store it in family members garage.

heres the update--the guys are STILL in jail (apparently they can steal bikes but can't save enough cash to bond out HAHAHA). i hope they don't drop the soap.....anyway, the bike is safely at home at CHAINED TIGHTLY. as for the damage, other than for a few minor cosmetic issues (IE: decals missing) and a few chips to the paint on the front lower cowlings, she is just the way i left her....hey, they even installed a pair of flushmounts for me HAHA--though unfortunately they can't wire for **** so i had to rewire them but what the hey i got a free pair of flushmounts. and i can't stop smiling every time i see her. that brings up another question.....anybody have an opinon on the best alarm system to get? im about to buy a scorpio alarm as i hear they are good, but i wanted to get y'alls opinion. i need something with roll sensor, tilt sensor, shock sensor, perimeter sensor--in essence i want the bike to go off if you so much as look at it the wrong way. let me know your thoughts. thanks
