Turboedsupe 05-31-2005, 03:49 AM Well i live in a not so lighted area and dont want to get in a wreck cause someone cant see me or i cant see a object in the road. I dont want to dump the money on HID's so are there any brighter bulbs i can buy? RumbleFish 05-31-2005, 06:48 PM I found some H7, 55w, 8500K Xenon/Krypton bulbs on Ebay...I haven't tried them yet, but they come w/ a lifetime guarantee...they'll replace them for free (less shipping costs) if they ever burn out or break. RF throttleone 06-01-2005, 12:18 AM there are 110w bulbs but you have to get them at a aftermarket store, just becareful when wiring. chainstretcher 06-01-2005, 09:22 AM Be careful with those 110w bulbs. On the 1000RR the charging system puts out a total of 340 watts at 5000 rpm. Keeping two 110w bulbs burning for an extended period of time sounds like battery/rectifier/stator problems down the road. There is also the possibility of melting some wires by going too high. vbh289 06-01-2005, 12:16 PM What about adding some driving lights? can be wired so Hi beams, they are on, low, they are off. could get some pretty neet lookin sets too. Calkidd 06-02-2005, 03:09 AM I second that on cheap headlight bulbs from ebay or the 110w. Sure the Ebay bulbs will create that cool looking HID look, but your stock bulbs will out perform them. As for the 110w don't do it!!! You will fry your wiring. If you are handy or if you want to spend the money install a set of TRUE HID headlights in your bike. I have HID installed on my low beam and it is very bright with a heat range of about 7000K. Go do a search by typing "H7 HID conversion kit". These are GREAT prices for a conversion kit. http://www.xenonking.com/motorcycle.htm RumbleFish 06-03-2005, 10:43 PM The bulbs I bought say 55w on the package, and I specifically asked the seller about this before I bought them. Are you saying that they're lying?...do you know this for a fact? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=7978145791&category=36476 Calkidd 06-03-2005, 11:12 PM Those are Junk I honestly don't think you will be happy with those. Do youself a favor and buy a set of Sylvania Silverstars. I have heard great reviews about these bubls. chainstretcher 06-03-2005, 11:17 PM RF -- ya those bulbs ARE 55w and are brighter than stock -- the 110w bulbs are a different theme in this thread. RumbleFish 06-04-2005, 12:18 AM gotcha...thanks chain Turboedsupe 06-04-2005, 03:12 AM ORIGINAL: RumbleFish The bulbs I bought say 55w on the package, and I specifically asked the seller about this before I bought them. I dont want blue looking ones just bright white. But i want them brighter than stock and i dont think the silverstars are that great. So before i get hid's are there anyone that has tried soem aftermarket bulbs for a bike and liked them? chainstretcher 06-04-2005, 08:00 AM Ya, I tried them -- I got 'em sitting on my desk right now. For what they are the bulbs are o.k. I mean they are brighter than stock and put out a whiter light. It didn't seem at all blue from a rider's perspective. My thing is I ride almost exclusively at night and I got used to my HID setup on my old bike. http://www.chainstretcher.com/classic103_i00007d.jpg If you want these to try, they're yours. Just paypal me whatever shipping is and I'll send 'em your way. You can PM me if interested. I also have both stock H7's if anybody needs extras of those. vbh289 06-04-2005, 12:47 PM hey if they will fit a F3, I am game, my hi is ok, but the low sux! Yellow yellow yellow.... maybe I should take my own advice? I dono. RumbleFish 06-17-2005, 06:53 PM UPDATE: Installed the bulbs I got off Ebay...definately brighter than the stock ones...only a hint of blue color, looks like hyper white...lifetime guarantee, $10 a pair...so far, so good.
