Not sure if this is the best forum but I posted here anyway...

Has anyone changed out their front head lights?
What i mean is I hate that there is only one light. I want both to be on for the regular lights and then still have my highbeam like the older bikes.
Has anyone done this?
I hate having the dumb ass ppl telling me "Hey one of your lights is out"

CBR 1000rr but there are others that have the same setup... INFO Plz...

I havent done it, but I think if you could get a extra light socket from another headlight off your model of bike ( like Ebay) you could splice it into your other wiring and just install the headlight socket in the lens that had no low beam???
Or something like that....just make sure your charging system can handle the job.

Good Luck

What about the reflective mirrors and whatnot?
Would that be a problem? Are they different?

If I had a nickel for every person that told be I had a light out, I would be semi-retired by now.

During daylight I keep the brights on. Still have people tell me I have a light out when I stop at night though.

There has to be an answer...Everyone hates the new design and wants the 2 head lights back. Someone out there has to have changed it out.. I was just thinking about making them both regular lights. I just hate to give up my HIGH BEAM....

If the old model had a dual element bulb, then there's your solution. Just buy the headlight portion of the harness from a junk yard and splice it in to your wiring. Highbeams would still work. Might have to fiddle around with it to get the aim right. When I get some time I may look into the feasability of this. If there's enough interest I'll make a little project out of it. Just be patient -- it's holidays and I'm balls deep into everything else right now.

The only thing that comes to my mind is the high beam reflector is desgined to angle up the beam. So I don't know how you will have both lights on with out it having a high beam.

You might try to modify the adjuster so you can aim the high beam far enough down, but then again like you said no more high beams. I personally like my high beams.

I dont know why they choose to do the headlights like that..maybe due to the lesser load they can run a smaller ( lighter) battery in the race to save weight where they can???

yeah today i had a guy swear to me it was the bulb.(damn katina rides):) and after 10 wasted min of my life he still didnt belive that honda made the lights do that, it would be nice not to have to have that conversation again. all the techknowley(sp?) in these bikes and you think one desginer would have looked at the front of the bike and said "hey that looks retarted" and spent 10secs to make it both come on during low beams,. ( i know my spelling is horrible, so sue me;)"
