I have an 06 CBR1K. I have noticed that at 5000 rpm, the engine behaves as if another fuel injecting valve has ben opened. The engine sound changes, the vibrations change and there seems to be some extra vroom! This happens conitently.
Anybody else experience this? Any idea what happens at 5000 rpm?

Probably when the second set of injectors kicks in.

 

Looks likely..FireBlade 1000 rr are known to 8 injectors!! 4 primary..4 secondary ones..correct me if i'm wrong but this is juz my 5 cents worth of knowledge..cheers!!

but on my 04..the surge came ard 4.5k rpm...and about there when i slip my clutch for my wheelies..yippee!!

 

yes on the 06 they changed the porting of the engine and volicity stacks and bring the second stage of injectors in at 5000 rpm

 

And if your still on stock exhaust thats also when the exhaust valve is fully opened.

 

5000 rpm is too early for 2nd injectors tho. any body know exactly which rpm second injectors take a role?

 

It's not just RPMs but also throttle position. If you're at 5K and go WOT you'll hear them hit -- especially if you've gotten rid of the flapper you'll hear the intake roar. I haven't done a lot of research on the blades 2nd set of injectors but most likely they come on as a result of throttle position, rpm and manifold pressure.

 

does anybody know when they come on for the 05? ive got stock exhaust and the flapper mod. i was also wondering if i am runnin g a little bit too lean due to the mod is this true?
