I was just wondering is it normal for what seems to be small specs of oil to sprinkle from the exhaust, particularly when the bike is just started and is cold?
My bike is a 2002 F4i with 8000 miles on it.
I am hoping I dont have a problem with my piston rings...

no oil should be in the exhaust, its normal for sum moisture from the fuel to come out but not oil. i would think u got sum probs.

i would say its moisture inside the exhaust mixed with the carbon burn off in the exhaust. which into has you thinking its oil. nothing to worry about

if you have moisture from the fuel in your exhaust you are running VERY rich, but i think you meant what i said

will check it again..hopefully it is fuel and not oil.
If it is fuel and is running rich, is that a problem, and can it be solved?

It's not uncommon to have moisture in your pipe that can mix with the carbon. This could look like oil, but it wouldn't feel viscous at all, it would just feel like dirty water.

I have that same condensation that comes out of the end of my exhaust when I'm warming my bike up. Your bike will run a little rich when it's cold and warming up, and the ECU has control of the air/fuel mixture so you don't need to worry about adjusting it. If it really was oil in the exhaust you coiuld tell because it would smoke a lot out of the exhaust when it was at operating temperature because it would be heating/burning all that oil that would be sitting in the exhaust. ;)
