Here is a Pic of a License plate light i made for my 97CBR 600 F3. The red light is actually a turn signal/side marker light from a car.
Let me know what you guys think.

Looks good... but is it legal? In Virginia it has to be white...

Kind of a stupid law... the cops headlights will light it up for them to see...

Yeah i checked with a Colorado State trooper and he said it was fine. He said the exact same thing that you said Don, his headlights light it up anyways so it doesnt really matter the color of the light.

It is a stupid law. In shawano you will get a ticket in no time.

i went to get an inspection without a light so it failed. i hooked up micro led dash lights that are blue, and they failed it again cause they were no white. so i went to home depot and got a battery operated 6" ballast and used velcro to stick it under the tail light just to pass an inspection. i was going to take it off when i got home and just use the blue ones, ironically the velcro didnt work very well and it fell off on the ride home. got my inspection though.

law says it must be white in texas too. i figured the cops are not too bad here in san antonio with bikes since i had no light(still blue not white) and no mirrors and have never been stopped for anything on my bike. not even riding at 110MPH+ all the way down 410 from 35 to 151. (probably just got lucky on that one though, its about a 25 mile ride)
