Is there a chance/way to get some sort of notification to let you know that theres a new message in your inbox? I just checked mine by chance and there was a few PM's in there that I didnt know about. Something like a flashing Inbox would be great.

Yes.... go to your profile and scroll down to Private Message and there is an option for notification.
