I was just curious to find out how many people ride with the high beam on. I usually keep them on during the daylight, but I used to ride with them on all the time when I had my f2. What about y'all?

View Full Version : How often do you ride with High Beams on? Steeviee 03-08-2006, 01:16 AM I was just curious to find out how many people ride with the high beam on. I usually keep them on during the daylight, but I used to ride with them on all the time when I had my f2. What about y'all? dragonmaster_91 03-08-2006, 01:33 AM The only time I use my high beam is at night. No real need to use high beam for any other time. On comming traffic can see you fine either way. The only real difference I can see would be if you kill the motor while chit-chatting with some friends and you dont turn your key off you will drain your battery faster. Might not get'er going again. LOL! thirdgenlxi 03-08-2006, 02:45 AM My high beams are on all day during daylight hours, then at night I switch to lowbeam. I try and make myself as visible as possible to at least try and keep people from seeing right through me. I don't want to use the high beams at nights though... with my HID's the high beams are friggin blinding like you wouldn't believe, so at night I don't want to blind people around me, lol Steeviee 03-08-2006, 04:46 AM That is exactly why I use my brights, I have enough of a hard time getting people to see me when it counts. I think if I were to get HID installed I might be noticed more. Have you noticed a difference since you installed HID's from halogen or have you had them the whole time? Turnin20s 03-08-2006, 10:08 AM For me it depends. I'll run during the day with the brights if I think of it and at night if no cars are coming and no one is infront of me. -Jesse- lang1864 03-08-2006, 11:27 AM All the time. I just think it looks alot better with both instead of one. Plus at night i like to see more since im a newer rider. Ive only had one person actually flash their lights at me for it. And for them i turned the brights off. Other than that always on. Tahoe SC 03-08-2006, 12:25 PM all the time mang...as far as being more visible to cars...it's debatable... they may see it, but it may not register as a vehicle since people are expecting to see 2 lights, about 4 feet apart...which their lame brain registers it as another car...but for headlights so close together, at times it doesn't even register. smarterben 03-08-2006, 02:43 PM I use mine during daylight for now. after i get my HIDs (which i'm still looking around for...if anyone knows of any deals...drop me a pm or something), i will aim my high beam down a bit and my low up a little. not for sure if thats how i'm going to do it exactly...but for now thats what i think i'm going to do. johndoe 03-08-2006, 07:00 PM only when it dark ahead and i cant see and no cars are coming in the opposite direction. dont want to blind them. dragonmaster_91 03-09-2006, 10:29 PM Thats why I like my 929. 3 bulbs. Low beam = center bulb on only. Brights = all three on. Anubis 03-11-2006, 07:54 AM All the time, but i`ve lowered the high beam aim so i`m not blinding all the cagers. pitsvtec 03-11-2006, 10:17 PM I almost always have it on b/c I don't like the 1 eyed look, and it's easier for other to see me. I usually get the lights flickered at me and I'm like, but you see me....LOL.....I shut them off during the day and when I'm riding in position. It gets annoying being blinded...:D 13brsxsrr 03-12-2006, 01:21 AM all the time and I have Hids for my high beam. Who wants to go tanning??? NINE2NINE 03-12-2006, 02:37 AM high beams on whenever im in high traffic areas and always at night. JeffRR 03-12-2006, 01:30 PM ORIGINAL: Anubis All the time, but i`ve lowered the high beam aim so i`m not blinding all the cagers. +1 You guys can lower the angle of your high beam so that you can see a lot more w/o blinding everybody. vbh289 03-12-2006, 02:34 PM I keep it low through town in the day, hi on the HWY during the day or in hi traffic, and low with oncoming traffic and hi on open road at night... Turboedsupe 03-12-2006, 04:01 PM I put some aftermarket bulbs in my bike and when i took my bike to the shop they told me i should take them out cause it would be drawing to much from the battery with my high beams on. I think they are 55W do you guys think i am alright or should i really change them out if im going to be riding with my brights on all the time? I just love the white light over the yellow THECHAD 03-12-2006, 10:39 PM I use my high beams all the time to many a**holes where I live need all the help you can get around here! Leif 03-16-2006, 04:35 PM PLEASE dont use your hhigh beams at night with cars around! when you do that it blinds the already bad drivers. and people tend to vear toward lights. so please for your own safty only use high beams when there are no other cars around cbrjeeper 03-16-2006, 05:28 PM I do agree with Leif. People at night, do actually tend to veer towards the bright light. I'll be the only vote for "Never" When I got the bike, the headlight was aimed just higher than low beams, and, just high enough that the high beams shoot over trafffic, in effect making me less visible, so, my normal lights put more than enough for me, at least until i've got some HID's in it Tylor |
