Default Which VFR Bars ???

Hi guys I have read on here somewhere about replacing the bars on my '88 1000fj. I just can't remember which model I should be stealing them from??

Can anyone tell me or point me in the right direction.

Thanks
John

You'd need to measure your fork diameter. Not entirely sure the Mark1 and mark 2 are the same.

VFR replacements for the Mark 2 CBR1000F ----> VFR 750 Bars from 90 to 96 I believe are 41mm diameter.

Cheers, SB

All Hurricane fork tubes are 41mm alright Seb so one just has to make sure the VFR bars
chosen are the 41mm's not the 39mm on older VFR's

No. All the same height.
I know this from having been given a pair of 38mm VFR bars (as Sprock says, from an older model). I checked the lift and it's identical. 41mm dia is all you need to make them fit. You will also need to elongate the holes in the bottom of the bars to make the switches fit in the right position. The end weights will also need a bit of out of the box thinking as the internal bar weights from the stock CBR bars won't fit the VRF bars.

VFR bars after 88 should fit ok. The VFR750G/H had smaller dia forks but the J (88) onwards had the same as the CBR.
Ive just fitted some to mine off a 89 VFR750

The VFR bars have weights and like has been said the holes for the switchgear need to be slightly modified ( I ground the pegs off in the switchgear )

Can I ask, does the bars on a later cbr1000f fit an '87 '88 or is it just the VFRs?
