LED ground affect light placement
#22
Well, you're going to have to sort that out on your own. I don't have an RR here to try it out on. Take a look at what Tungpho and I did, and just use the similar ideas. The main point is to hide the lights while still allowing the glow to be visible. If peopel can see the physical lights, it looks tacky, but if they can't tell where the glow is coming form, it's awesome. Personally, I positioned all mine so it looks like the engine is glowing, and all the light is being projected backwards through a "hollow" bike.
It's an art, that's for sure.

if you got the streetglow kit...then you got what i got...
here's a better idea of placement...also...i went for a stealth look...you can't really see the actual LEDS on the bike...meaning...you can't see the light source....all you see is the glow....that is why mine are hidden...thus putting them on the swinger for me would be defeating the purpose...
also here's the kit i got....like i said...may get a strip or two more...but i don't want to be crazy bright..just subtle...but that's just me...

I got mine from Joe Florida, and they worked out pretty well. But most of his kits are strips as well, so I'm trying to think of placements you could do. I ended up putting 3 strips in the front wheel area, 3 on each side with the fairings, 2 on the bottom, and 3 in the rear area. Here's a vid of the final product

I got mine from www.ledglow.com and they are a little different then the usual strips but here is my placement for them:
Strip on intake baffle, 1 on frame and on going across lighting everything
In the rear pegs to light up the tires:
Behind the license plate to light up tire:
between battery box and tank to light up shock:
On frame and intake baffle:
The one going through to light up the engine:
The final product:

This thread is like 3 years old haha but nonetheless helpful. Jeffjones your bike came out looking nasty. I sold my 600rr and am planning to pickup an "8 1000rr thus weekend. I bought all new LEDs and this time I strayed away from the cheap street glow kit. I really don't recommend streetglowfx. They melt easily and the adhesive is garbage. The LEDs I bought come with 6 strips, a function box, and a remote and are the million color lights all for around $50. I'll be sure to post after I get my new bike. Best of luck to you all!
