DRL-400 Rev Limiter Help
Well, I installed the Dynatek DRL-400 two step rev limiter and it isn't working....I think. When it is limiting, shouldn't you be able to tell by the sound of the bike? Also, shouldn't the rpm indicator stop where you programmed it for? I went over the wiring 3 times plus I had a friend go over it for me. It is wired exactly as the instructions say. The only thing is the plug wires. It says that I need carbon core type wires because it may make the rev limiter malfunction. Which I understand if the bike is running. But, it says that with the bike on but not running, the led should light up when the clutch is pulled in. Not happening. One thing that I noticed is that when I turn the kill switch to the on position, the led flashes quickly once. The only other thing I can thing of is the way it is wired to the clutch lever switch. Does the switch need to be disconnected from the rest of the bikes system, making it useless except for the rev limiter. It doesn't specigy in the instructions but the wiring diagram make it looks like the clutch switch is now wired only to the rev limiter. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!
