hi mate its a gsxr 600 k5 it was a little easier for me because i used a gsxr srad subframe (sort of ) and because it has also been cut up and made from scratch really ,plus its ony for the track
cabbie who,s on this forum fitted one to his road blade theres a thread some where, and a very nice job he did too ,also thats not a 2 minit job
the full spec of mine is as follows
gsxr1000 k2 frame (only using the headstock outer main spar skins swingarm pivot sides) everything inside was fabricated from scratch
cbr 600rr swingarm and shock (obviously frame modded to accept it)
gsxr k2 1000 front end ,with 600 calipers (rear caliper is cbr 600rr)
cbr 600 f2 motor
gsxr k2 tank (bottom cut out and cbr 600 f2 grafted/welded in)
gsxr k front wheel
fireblade rr3 ,6 inch rear wheel
srad rear subframe (well the box section from it,with fabricated batttery box)
fabricated screen stay
gsxr 600 k5 seat and hump
gsxr k5 fairing made 2 inch wider to fit
all the other bits m/cylinders ect are a mix of cbr/gsxr
a lot more work than i thought ,but its a bit different i suppose

lol yeah thats what i,ve done ,in my shed with a blow lamp and spoon lol and the engine is held in with string
if you think the frame as is now even resembles the suzuki it came from (big mistake)
i agree the suspension is now pretty outdated (i sould know i raced a 1000 k2 for 2 years
yes it has been tested , not on track yet
yes its a big old motor
yes its for tracks
built for a hobby and fun
i could tell you the offset, rake, trail, sag ,wieght ,wheel base, all data
come on mate , i,m an ex racer and profesional welder fabricator
could have kept my gsxr with ohlins and all, or my ducati but wheres the fun or challenge in that
this is the starting point of my project ,i intend it to evolve in time
and the big old motor is a good starting point ,enough power to start with and simple and, reliable
sorry to be sharp but i,ve heard all the, old ,new, heavy ,outdated stuff for many years,
as said in many posts many times ,set up , rider comes first
check out the 600 steelie lap times and compare them to the current 600
not too shabby for 20 year old
