Default D3 grips

Went to put some new D3 grips on tonight, got the clutch (left) side on easy as hell. Right side how ever, the actuall hard white piece that connects to the throttle, has a small lip about 1/4 from it being flush like the left side. Not a big deal but im pretty particular about my stuff. I pushed and twisted for about 20 minutes and I cant get it over that lip. Is there another handle to buy that will allow the grip to be flush? I just cant see it going over that lip.

yup, i installed the d3's on my 1000rr and i just got mine up to the little lip next to the throttle housing...NOT over it. The grip isn't suppose to go over that lip. That lip is there because it is meant to stop the grip from rubbing against the throttle housing...slowing down the snap back on the throttle.

Just be sure to use grip glue and get it on there nice and tight...but I'd definitely recommend NOT going over the lip otherwise your throttle could stick wide open!
