RE: 520 Chain and Sprocket Conversion
You get more power in lower gears which will make your bike faster from a start and pull harder while rolling. The only negative is that the bike will rev higher at freeway speeds which means you will loose fuel efficiency. Since most of my riding is in the city decided to buy the kit and try it on a 600RR. It works as advertised, getting the front wheel up in first and second are a lot easier now. I am thinking of changing it back to stock gearing since my wife rides it now but I am going to wait to see what she says after riding around a bit.

i have a d.i.d. 520 x-ring chain vortex +3 and -1 in front, i love the new gearing and i do alot of freeway driving. I dont mind the higher RPM because i did a final drive swap on my car too and i love the extra power you get while in high gear. Only downfall is you will top out at a lower speed.

RE: 520 Chain and Sprocket Conversion
I did the 520 conversion. I went with the Vortex -1/+2 with an RK XSO chain. My milage is better in town because I can use 4th and 5th gear effectively. I rev a bit higher on the highways, but oh well, only about 6-700rpm, if that. The -1f/+2r conversion is supose to allow the engine to hit the speed limiter at redline? Dunno, haven't tried it yet, I need a tune up first. I do know that I love responsiveness of it though, revs fast and pulls alot better.

keep a good watch on the vortex sprockets,
they have a trend where they wear out a lot faster than the others
